The Little Red Hen

Once upon a time, a Little Red Hen found a grain of wheat. "Who will help me plant this wheat?" she asked. The Pig, the Cat, and the Dog all said, "Not I!"

So, the Little Red Hen planted the wheat all by herself. When the wheat grew tall, she asked, "Who will help me cut the wheat?" The Pig, the Cat, and the Dog all said, "Not I!" So, the Little Red Hen cut the wheat all by herself.

Then, she asked, "Who will help me bake the bread?" The Pig, the Cat, and the Dog all said, "Not I!" So, the Little Red Hen baked the bread all by herself. When the bread was ready, she asked, "Who will help me eat the bread?" "I will!" cried the Pig, the Cat, and the Dog. "No, you won't!" said the Little Red Hen. "I will eat it myself!" And she did.
