Story 1: The Little Red Hen
The Little Red Hen found a grain of wheat. She asked her friends, "Who will help me plant this wheat?" The lazy cat said, "Not I." The sleepy dog said, "Not I." The noisy duck said, "Not I." So, the Little Red Hen planted the wheat all by herself. When the wheat grew tall, she asked, "Who will help me cut this wheat?" The cat, dog, and duck all said, "Not I." So, the Little Red Hen cut the wheat herself. Then she asked, "Who will help me take this wheat to the mill?" Again, her friends said, "Not I." So, the Little Red Hen took the wheat to the mill and brought back flour. "Who will help me bake bread with this flour?" she asked. "Not I," said the cat, dog, and duck. So, the Little Red Hen baked the bread all by herself. When the bread was ready and smelled yummy, she asked, "Who will help me eat this bread?" "I will!" said the cat. "I will!" said the dog. "I will!" said the duck. But the Little Red Hen said, "No! I will eat it myself!" And she did.
