The Little Red Hen
Once there was a Little Red Hen. She found a grain of wheat. "Who will plant this wheat?" she asked. The Pig said, "Not I." The Duck said, "Not I." The Cat said, "Not I." "Then I will," said the Little Red Hen. And she did.
Soon the wheat grew tall. "Who will cut this wheat?" she asked. The Pig said, "Not I." The Duck said, "Not I." The Cat said, "Not I." "Then I will," said the Little Red Hen. And she did.
Then the Little Red Hen took the wheat to the mill. "Who will help me grind this wheat into flour?" she asked. The Pig said, "Not I." The Duck said, "Not I." The Cat said, "Not I." "Then I will," said the Little Red Hen. And she did.
Finally, she made the flour into bread. "Who will help me eat this bread?" she asked. "I will!" said the Pig. "I will!" said the Duck. "I will!" said the Cat. "No!" said the Little Red Hen. "I will eat it myself!" And she did.
