Once upon a time, there was a Little Red Hen. She lived on a farm with a lazy dog, a sleepy cat, and a noisy duck. One day, the Little Red Hen found a grain of wheat. "Who will help me plant this wheat?" she asked. "Not I!" barked the dog. "Not I!" purred the cat. "Not I!" quacked the duck. So, the Little Red Hen planted the wheat all by herself.

Finally, the delicious bread was ready. "Who will help me eat the bread?" she asked. "I will!" barked the dog. "I will!" purred the cat. "I will!" quacked the duck. "No!" said the Little Red Hen. "I will eat it myself!" And she did.
