The Little Red Hen
Once upon a time, there was a Little Red Hen. She found a grain of wheat. "Who will help me plant this wheat?" she asked. The Pig said, "Not I." The Cat said, "Not I." The Dog said, "Not I." So the Little Red Hen planted the wheat all by herself.
Soon, the wheat grew tall. "Who will help me cut the wheat?" she asked. The Pig said, "Not I." The Cat said, "Not I." The Dog said, "Not I." So the Little Red Hen cut the wheat all by herself.
Then it was time to take the wheat to the mill. "Who will help me take the wheat to the mill?" she asked. The Pig said, "Not I." The Cat said, "Not I." The Dog said, "Not I." So the Little Red Hen took the wheat to the mill all by herself.
At last, the wheat was ground into flour. "Who will help me bake the bread?" she asked. The Pig said, "Not I." The Cat said, "Not I." The Dog said, "Not I." So the Little Red Hen baked the bread all by herself. When the bread was ready, it smelled so good! "Who will help me eat the bread?" she asked. "I will!" said the Pig. "I will!" said the Cat. "I will!" said the Dog. But the Little Red Hen said, "No! I will eat it myself!" And she did.
