Read each question carefully and follow the instructions. Remember to capitalize the first word and all important words in a title. Use quotation marks for short stories and poems, and underline or italicize for books.
Titles help us know what a story or book is about! When we write a title, we need to make sure it looks just right. We always start the first word of a title with a big letter. We also make big letters for all the important words. Small words like 'a', 'an', 'the', 'and', 'but', 'or', 'for', 'nor', 'on', 'at', 'to', 'from', 'by', 'up', 'with' usually stay small unless they are the very first word. For books, we can underline the title or make it slanted (italic). For short stories or poems, we put special little marks called quotation marks around the title, like this: "My Fun Day".
