The Little Bear Who Lost His Roar
Barnaby was a small bear who lived in a big forest. Every morning, Barnaby loved to practice his roar. "ROAR!" he would shout, and all the little birds would fly away. But one sunny Tuesday, Barnaby woke up and tried to roar, and nothing came out! He tried again, "R-r-r..." but it was just a tiny squeak. Barnaby felt very sad. He went to find his friend, Sammy the Squirrel. "Sammy, I've lost my roar!" he whispered. Sammy, who was busy burying nuts, looked up. "Lost your roar? That's silly! Maybe you just need to warm up. Try singing!" Barnaby tried to sing, but it was still a squeak. Next, he met Fiona the Fox. "Fiona, I can't roar!" he cried. Fiona, who was very clever, said, "Hmmm, maybe you're just hungry! A big breakfast always makes me feel strong." Barnaby ate a big breakfast of berries and honey, but his roar was still gone. He sat down by the river, feeling very gloomy. Suddenly, he saw a tiny butterfly struggling in the water. Without thinking, Barnaby reached out his paw and gently scooped the butterfly to safety on a leaf. The butterfly fluttered its wings and flew off. Barnaby felt a warm feeling inside. He took a deep breath, and then, a big, loud, happy "ROAR!" burst out! His roar was back! He realized that helping others made him feel strong and brave, and that's all he needed.
