Once upon a time, there lived a Little Red Hen. She found a grain of wheat. She asked her friends, 'Who will help me plant this wheat?' The Pig said, 'Not I.' The Cat said, 'Not I.' The Dog said, 'Not I.' 'Then I will do it myself,' said the Little Red Hen, and she did.
When the wheat grew tall, she asked, 'Who will help me cut this wheat?' The Pig said, 'Not I.' The Cat said, 'Not I.' The Dog said, 'Not I.' 'Then I will do it myself,' said the Little Red Hen, and she did.
After the wheat was cut, she asked, 'Who will help me take this wheat to the mill to be ground into flour?' The Pig said, 'Not I.' The Cat said, 'Not I.' The Dog said, 'Not I.' 'Then I will do it myself,' said the Little Red Hen, and she did.
When the flour was ready, she asked, 'Who will help me bake this flour into bread?' The Pig said, 'Not I.' The Cat said, 'Not I.' The Dog said, 'Not I.' 'Then I will do it myself,' said the Little Red Hen, and she did.
Finally, the delicious bread was baked. She asked, 'Who will help me eat this bread?' The Pig said, 'I will!' The Cat said, 'I will!' The Dog said, 'I will!' 'No!' said the Little Red Hen. 'I will eat it myself!' And she did.
