The little red hen lived on a farm. She wanted to bake some bread. She asked her friends, "Who will help me plant the wheat?" The pig said, "Not I." The cat said, "Not I." The duck said, "Not I." So, the little red hen planted the wheat all by herself. When the wheat grew tall, she asked, "Who will help me cut the wheat?" Again, her friends said, "Not I." She cut the wheat and took it to the mill. "Who will help me bake the bread?" she asked. Her friends still said, "Not I." So, the little red hen baked the bread herself. When the bread was ready, she asked, "Who will help me eat the bread?" All her friends said, "I will!"
