She worked hard to save money for flying lessons. In 1928, Amelia became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean! This made her very famous. Later, she tried to fly all the way around the world, but her plane disappeared. Even though she was lost, Amelia Earhart is remembered as a hero who showed that girls can do anything boys can do.
