Lily skipped to the park, her red backpack bouncing. She loved to play on the swings and pretend she could fly. Today, a new girl was sitting alone on a bench, drawing in a notebook. The girl had curly brown hair and was wearing a bright yellow dress. Lily felt a little shy, but she really wanted to make a new friend. She walked over slowly. 'Hi!' Lily said with a big smile. 'My name is Lily. Do you want to play on the swings?' The new girl looked up, her eyes wide. She smiled back. 'Hi, Lily! I'm Mia. I'd love to! I just moved here, and I don't know anyone yet.' Mia put away her notebook and jumped off the bench. Lily and Mia spent the rest of the afternoon laughing and pushing each other on the swings. They even shared Lily's juice box. Lily felt happy that she had been brave enough to say hello.
