Understanding a Book
Books are amazing! They take us on adventures, teach us new things, and introduce us to interesting characters. But have you ever thought about how a book is put together? Every book has a front cover, which usually has the title and the author's name. The back cover often tells you a little bit about the story or what the book is about. Inside, you'll find pages with words and sometimes pictures. The words are read from left to right, and from the top of the page to the bottom. Each page has a page number, usually at the bottom. When you finish reading one page, you turn to the next. The title page is usually one of the first pages and repeats the title and author. Sometimes there's a table of contents that lists the chapters and their page numbers. Knowing how a book works helps you read and understand stories better!
