Reading Passage: The Space Walk
Lily loved to read. She would pick up any book and dive right into the stories. Sometimes, though, she found it hard to understand what she was reading. The words would all run together, or there would be too much space between them. Her teacher, Mrs. Davis, explained that good spacing is like taking a walk. You need enough room between your steps to move comfortably, but not so much that you get lost. When you read, each word needs its own little space, like a tiny pause. This helps your brain see each word clearly and understand the whole sentence. When you write, leaving the right amount of space helps others read your work easily. So, Lily started to practice her 'space walk' when she read and wrote, and soon, her stories made much more sense!
