The New Puppy

Lily woke up with a big smile. Today was the day! Her family was going to the animal shelter to pick out a new puppy. Lily imagined a fluffy, playful puppy who would chase balls and cuddle. She spent all morning drawing pictures of her new best friend. She couldn't wait to teach it tricks and take it for walks.

Later that afternoon, at the shelter, a small, shy puppy hid in the back of its kennel. Its name was Buster. Buster was a little scared of all the loud barking and new smells.
