The Big Red Barn

Farmer John lived on a big farm. His favorite building was the red barn. Inside the barn lived many animals. There were three brown cows, two spotted pigs, and a fluffy white sheep. Every morning, Farmer John would go to the barn to feed the animals. He would give the cows fresh hay, the pigs yummy scraps, and the sheep green grass. The barn had a tall, pointy roof and a large wooden door. A friendly cat named Mittens often slept on the warm hay bales inside.

A Day at the Zoo

Yesterday, my family and I went to the zoo. It was a sunny day, perfect for seeing animals! First, we saw the tall giraffes eating leaves from a very high branch. Next, we visited the playful monkeys swinging from ropes. Their habitat had many green trees. After that, we watched the sleepy lions napping in the shade. The most exciting part was seeing the colorful parrots flying in a large aviary. They had feathers of red, blue, and yellow. Before we left, we bought ice cream. My favorite flavor is chocolate.
