The Little Red Hen
Once upon a time, there was a Little Red Hen who lived on a farm. One day, she found a grain of wheat. "Who will help me plant this wheat?" she asked. The Pig said, "Not I!" The Cat said, "Not I!" The Dog said, "Not I!" So, the Little Red Hen planted the wheat herself. When the wheat grew tall and ripe, she asked, "Who will help me cut the wheat?" The Pig, the Cat, and the Dog all said, "Not I!" So, the Little Red Hen cut the wheat herself. After that, she asked, "Who will help me take the wheat to the mill to be ground into flour?" Again, the Pig, the Cat, and the Dog said, "Not I!" So, the Little Red Hen took the wheat to the mill herself. When the flour was ready, she asked, "Who will help me bake bread?" The Pig, the Cat, and the Dog said, "Not I!" So, the Little Red Hen baked the bread herself. Finally, the delicious smell of fresh bread filled the air. She asked, "Who will help me eat this bread?"
