Tangrams are ancient Chinese puzzles made of seven flat polygons, called tans, which are put together to form shapes. Use your knowledge of shapes and spatial reasoning to complete the following activities.

A standard tangram set has 7 pieces. Look at the image below and write the names of the different shapes you see.

1. How many triangles are there in a standard tangram set?
