The Shy Sparrow
Pip was a small sparrow who lived in a bustling city park. He was very shy. Whenever other birds chirped and played, Pip would hide behind the thickest leaves on his tree. He loved to watch the children playing with their bright red ball, but he never dared to fly closer. He worried he wasn't brave enough or quick enough to join in their games, even from afar. His biggest fear was being noticed.
One sunny afternoon, a tiny baby bird fell from its nest. It chirped weakly, alone on the grass. All the other sparrows flew away, scared of the big dog barking nearby. But Pip, seeing the little bird in danger, felt a strange flutter in his chest – not of fear, but of determination. He knew he had to help. Gathering all his courage, Pip flew down, chirped loudly at the dog, and then quickly guided the baby bird under a safe bush. The dog, startled, ran off. The baby bird's parents soon returned and thanked Pip with happy chirps. From that day on, Pip still enjoyed his quiet moments, but he wasn't afraid to join the other sparrows in their games. He even sometimes flew a little closer to watch the children, feeling proud of his brave heart.
