One sunny afternoon, Lily was drawing a beautiful rainbow when her little brother, Tom, snatched the red crayon right out of her hand! "Hey!" Lily yelled, "Give that back! I was using it!" Tom just giggled and ran off with the crayon. Lily felt her face get hot. She really wanted to finish her rainbow. She thought about yelling louder or even trying to grab it back, but then she remembered something her mom always said about sharing. Lily walked over to Tom, who was now coloring on a scrap piece of paper. "Tom," she said calmly, "I need the red crayon to finish my rainbow. When I'm done, you can have it back, or we can share it." Tom looked at her, then at the crayon. He slowly handed it back. "Okay," he mumbled. Lily smiled, finished her rainbow, and then shared her crayons with Tom for the rest of the afternoon.
