The Little Blue Bird

Lily lived in a small house at the edge of a big forest. One sunny morning, she found a tiny, blue bird with a broken wing in her backyard. She carefully picked it up and brought it inside. She made a cozy nest for it in a shoebox and fed it crumbs.

Days turned into a week. Lily named the bird Sky. Sky grew stronger each day. Lily worried about Sky staying inside forever. She knew birds belonged in the sky. One afternoon, while playing in the yard, she saw a big, colorful bird just like Sky, flying high above the trees. It sang a beautiful song. Lily realized it must be Sky's family.

Lily gently carried Sky outside. The colorful bird flew closer, chirping happily. Sky fluttered its mended wing and, with a brave little hop, flew out of Lily's hands and up to join its family. Lily watched them fly away, feeling a mix of sadness and joy.

Lily often looked up at the sky, wondering if one of those blue specks was Sky. She knew she had done the right thing, and a warm feeling filled her heart every time she remembered her little blue friend.
