Read about Amelia Earhart and answer the questions below.

Amelia Earhart was a famous American pilot who made history with her daring flights. She was born in Atchison, Kansas, in 1897. Even as a young girl, Amelia was adventurous and loved trying new things. She saw her first airplane at a state fair when she was 10 years old, but it wasn't until she was 23 that she took her first airplane ride. From that moment on, she was hooked!

Amelia became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932. This incredible achievement made her a worldwide celebrity. She also worked to encourage other women to fly and to pursue their dreams. In 1937, Amelia set out on her most challenging journey: to fly around the world. Sadly, during this flight, her plane disappeared over the Pacific Ocean, and she was never seen again. Despite her disappearance, Amelia Earhart remains an inspiration to many for her courage, determination, and pioneering spirit.
