The Mystery of the Missing Kite

Open book illustration

Leo loved spending his Saturdays at Willow Creek Park. It was his favorite place to fly his bright red kite, named 'Flash'. Flash soared higher and higher, a vibrant splash of color against the blue sky. Today, however, Flash was nowhere to be found. Leo searched his room, the garage, and even under his bed, but the kite had vanished. His younger sister, Mia, with her mischievous grin, was humming a tune about 'windy days and flying high'. Leo narrowed his eyes. Could Mia have taken Flash? He knew she admired his kite, but she also loved playing pranks. He decided to follow the trail of glitter he noticed on the floor, leading from his room to the backyard. There, tangled in the branches of the old oak tree, was Flash, sparkling with Mia's craft glitter. Mia emerged from behind the tree, giggling. 'I just wanted to make Flash extra special for you, Leo!' she exclaimed. Leo couldn't help but smile. His kite was safe, and even better, it was now extra sparkly.
