Read each question carefully and follow the instructions. This worksheet will help you practice identifying and understanding predicates in sentences.

Every complete sentence has two main parts: a subject and a predicate. The subject tells who or what the sentence is about. The predicate tells what the subject does or what is said about the subject. It always includes a verb.

Example: The dog barked loudly.

Subject: The dog (who or what the sentence is about)

Predicate: barked loudly (what the dog did)

Underline the complete predicate in each sentence.
