What are Guide Words?
Guide words are the two words at the top of each page in a dictionary or glossary. The word on the left is the first word on that page, and the word on the right is the last word on that page. All the words in between these two guide words will be found on that page, in alphabetical order.
Example: If the guide words are 'apple' and 'astronaut', you would find 'apricot', 'arrive', and 'ash' on that page, but not 'ant' or 'awake'.
