The Secret Garden

Mary Lennox was a disagreeable, selfish child who was sent to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven, at Misselthwaite Manor in Yorkshire, England. The manor was a huge, mysterious place with a hundred rooms, most of them locked. Outside, there were vast gardens, but one garden, the secret garden, had been locked for ten years after a tragic accident. One day, while exploring the grounds, Mary found a hidden door in a wall, covered by ivy. She pushed it open and stepped into the most magical place she had ever seen. Inside, roses climbed over crumbling walls, and forgotten flowers bloomed wildly. Mary spent her days tending to the garden, and as she brought the garden back to life, she began to change too, becoming a kinder, happier girl.
