Read each question carefully and follow the instructions. This worksheet will help you practice identifying and understanding chronological order in stories and events.

Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow.

The Life Cycle of a Butterfly First, a female butterfly lays tiny eggs, usually on a leaf or stem. These eggs are often laid in clusters. A few weeks later, a tiny larva, also known as a caterpillar, hatches from each egg. The caterpillar spends its time eating leaves and growing larger, shedding its skin several times as it grows. Next, the caterpillar forms a chrysalis around itself. Inside the chrysalis, amazing changes begin to happen. Finally, after a period of time, a beautiful adult butterfly emerges from the chrysalis, ready to fly and lay its own eggs, starting the cycle all over again.
