Leo quickly slipped into the kitchen, where Mom was busy frosting a cake. 'Is she still in the living room?' he whispered. Mom nodded, smiling. 'Perfect timing. Go hide your present with the others in the pantry.' Leo carefully placed his box behind a stack of canned goods. Soon, Dad arrived home, carrying a huge balloon bouquet. He, too, quietly entered the kitchen. 'Has anyone seen Mia's favorite chocolate ice cream?' he asked Mom. 'It's in the freezer, ready for the big moment,' she replied.
