The Mystery of the Missing Key It was a dark and stormy night. Ten-year-old Leo sat by the window, watching the rain lash against the glass. He was staying at his Grandma Rose's old, creaky house in the countryside, a place full of forgotten treasures and dusty attics. Suddenly, a loud clang echoed from downstairs. Leo's heart pounded. Grandma Rose had gone to bed early, complaining of a cold. Leo crept down the stairs, every step groaning under his weight. He found the front door ajar and a cold gust of wind sweeping through the hallway. On the floor lay Grandma Rose's antique silver key, her most prized possession, which usually hung on a hook by the door. But now, it was gone! Leo knew he had to find it before Grandma Rose woke up. He searched under furniture, behind curtains, and even in the grandfather clock. Just as despair began to set in, he noticed a faint glimmer under the rug near the fireplace. With a gasp, he pulled back the rug to reveal the key, nestled perfectly in a loose floorboard. Relieved, Leo carefully placed the key back on its hook, closed the door, and hurried back to bed, a smile on his face.
