The Little Seed

Once there was a tiny seed, no bigger than a speck of dust. It lay buried deep in the cold, dark earth, feeling lonely and forgotten. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. The other seeds around it had already sprouted, sending their green shoots towards the sun. But not the little seed. It was afraid. Afraid of the unknown, afraid of what lay beyond its cozy, dark home. One day, a gentle rain began to fall, soaking the earth around it. A warm beam of sunlight pierced through the soil, touching the little seed. Suddenly, a tiny crack appeared in its hard shell. It felt a strange pull, a desire to reach upwards. Slowly, painstakingly, it pushed through the soil, unfolding its first two tiny leaves. The world above was bright and vast, but it no longer felt afraid. It felt strong, hopeful, and ready to grow.
