The Mystery of the Missing Key
Lily woke up with a start. It was Saturday, and today was the day of the annual neighborhood treasure hunt! She jumped out of bed, quickly got dressed, and ran downstairs. Her mother had left a note on the kitchen table: “Good luck, treasure hunter! Your first clue is hidden under your favorite book.” Lily rushed to the bookshelf, pulling out her well-loved copy of 'The Secret Garden.' Underneath, she found a small, rolled-up parchment. It read, “To find what you seek, look where the sun first peeks.”
Excited, Lily ran to the living room window, just as the first rays of sunlight streamed in. Behind the curtain, tucked into a potted plant, was a tiny wooden box. She tried to open it, but it was locked! A small tag tied to the box read, “The key to your prize hides where you keep your treats.” Lily thought for a moment, then her eyes lit up. Her cookie jar!
She hurried back to the kitchen and reached inside the ceramic cookie jar. Her fingers closed around something cold and metallic. It was a silver key! With trembling hands, she unlocked the wooden box. Inside, nestled on a bed of cotton, was a shiny, gold-foiled chocolate coin. Lily smiled, the treasure hunt was a sweet success!
