The story of the Tower of Babel is an ancient tale found in the Book of Genesis. It tells of a time after the Great Flood when all people spoke one language and migrated to a plain in Shinar. There, they decided to build a city and a tower that would reach to the heavens, to make a name for themselves and avoid being scattered across the earth. However, God saw their prideful ambition and intervened, confusing their language so they could no longer understand each other.
