What are Mnemonic Devices?
A mnemonic device (pronounced ni-MON-ik) is a trick or technique that helps you remember information. Our brains are good at remembering things that are funny, strange, or easy to connect to other things we already know. Mnemonic devices use these tricks to make learning new facts, lists, or sequences much easier and more fun!

There are many types of mnemonic devices:
1. **Acrostic:** A sentence or phrase where the first letter of each word stands for something you need to remember. Example: To remember the order of operations in math (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction), you might use "**P**lease **E**xcuse **M**y **D**ear **A**unt **S**ally."
2. **Acronym:** A word formed from the first letters of other words. Example: To remember the colors of the rainbow (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet), you can use the name "**ROY G. BIV**."
3. **Rhyme/Song:** Setting information to a catchy tune or rhyme. Example: "Thirty days hath September, April, June, and November..."
4. **Chunking:** Breaking down a long list of items into smaller, more manageable groups. Example: Remembering a phone number like 5551234567 is harder than 555-123-4567.
