The Mystery of the Missing Lunchbox
It was a Tuesday morning, and Maya was excited about her lunch. Her mom had packed her favorite: a tuna sandwich, carrot sticks, and a chocolate chip cookie. Maya carefully placed her bright yellow lunchbox on the shelf in her classroom, just like she always did. She spent the morning learning about ancient Egypt, completely forgetting about her delicious lunch.
When the lunch bell finally rang, Maya rushed to the shelf. But to her dismay, her yellow lunchbox was gone! She searched frantically, checking under coats and behind backpacks, but it was nowhere to be found. A knot formed in her stomach. Who would take her lunchbox? And why?
Her friend Leo, noticing her distress, came over. 'What's wrong, Maya?' he asked. 'My lunchbox is missing!' she exclaimed, almost in tears. Leo, a budding detective, decided to help. 'Let's retrace your steps,' he suggested. 'Where did you put it?' Maya pointed to the empty spot on the shelf.
They started asking other students. Sarah remembered seeing a yellow lunchbox, but couldn't recall whose it was or where it went. Ben thought he saw someone carrying a yellow lunchbox towards the art room earlier. Could it be a clue? Maya and Leo headed towards the art room, their detective instincts tingling.
