Read each section carefully and follow the instructions. This worksheet will help you practice identifying and using linking verbs.
Linking verbs connect the subject of a sentence to a noun, pronoun, or adjective that renames or describes the subject. Unlike action verbs, linking verbs do not show action. Common linking verbs include forms of 'to be' (am, is, are, was, were, been, being), and verbs related to the five senses (look, smell, taste, feel, sound) or states of being (appear, become, grow, remain, seem, stay, turn).
