An intensive pronoun emphasizes its antecedent (the noun or pronoun it refers to). Intensive pronouns always end in -self or -selves. Unlike reflexive pronouns, intensive pronouns are NOT essential to the meaning of the sentence; if you remove them, the sentence still makes sense.

Examples: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves.
