1. A chemist has one solution that is 50% acid and another that is 20% acid. How much of each solution should be used to make 100 ml of a solution that is 40% acid?

2. A candy store sells chocolate for $10 per pound and gummy bears for $4 per pound. How many pounds of gummy bears should be mixed with 5 pounds of chocolate to create a mixture that sells for $8 per pound?

3. To make a 10-liter mixture of juice that is 30% cranberry, you need to mix pure cranberry juice with a juice that is 10% cranberry. You will need   liters of pure cranberry juice and   liters of the 10% cranberry juice.

4. A metallurgist wants to create 20 kg of an alloy that is 60% copper. He has one alloy that is 80% copper and another that is 50% copper. Which equation represents the amount of 80% copper alloy (x) needed?
