1. The temperature in Anchorage, Alaska, was -5°F at 6 AM. By noon, the temperature had risen by 12°F. What was the temperature at noon?

2. A submarine is at a depth of 250 feet below sea level. It then ascends 75 feet. What is its new depth?

3. A diver descends at a rate of 3 feet per second. How far will the diver be after 15 seconds?

4. A company's stock price dropped by $4 each day for 7 consecutive days. What was the total change in the stock price during this period?

5. A football team lost 6 yards on one play and then gained 10 yards on the next play. The net change in yardage for the two plays is   yards.
